Colosseum Athletics wins Miami Tee Tourney

What does it take to be No. 1?  To find out, just ask Colosseum Athletics – the winner of the inaugural Miami Tee Tourney.  Colosseum’s T-shirt beat out 15 other designs to be crowned the Official 2015-16 Miami Spirit Tee.

Brian Delehoy, the Director of Licensing & CSR at Colosseum, said, “Colosseum was excited to participate in the inaugural Miami Tee Tourney, and we’re even more thrilled to have emerged victorious!  Our staff really enjoyed following the progress each round and doing their part to vote us to victory along the way.  We look forward to helping RedHawk fans #OwnTheStands by outfitting them in the Official Spirit Shirt all throughout the upcoming 2015-16 seasons.”

Miami’s licensed vendors were asked to submit their best designs to participate in a bracket style tournament.  On Selection Sunday, the top 16 designs that made the tournament were revealed.  The vendors that earned a spot in the tournament included national brands such as adidas, Blue 84, Camp David, Champion, CI Sport, Colosseum and JanSport.

Each round, the designs were paired up against another design in a head-to-head game.  Students, faculty, staff, alumni and fans voted for their favorite in each matchup.  The design with the most votes in each game advanced to the next round.  After four rounds of voting, Colosseum beat out adidas to take home the title.

There were over 7,600 votes over the course of the three-week tournament.  The Official 2015-16 Miami Spirit Tee is now available at the Miami University Bookstore.
