The Office of New Student Programs assists new first year and transfer students and their parents and family members in transitioning to Miami University. We coordinate new student orientation and welcome events, facilitate first year and transfer transition courses, and serve as a central resource for those new to the Miami community.
The Office of Second Year Programs works to better prepare second year students for continued success academically and personally, to help students connect to the Miami University and Oxford community, and to help focus university resources on the needs of second year students.
Miami University Oxford is a residential campus, with nearly all first- and second-year students living in 35 residence halls. These halls represent various Living Learning Communities (LLCs), which provide an opportunity for students to live and learn with others who share their interests. Miami is also known for its inclusive environment and active student body. With more than 450 student organizations, a new student center, and 34 intramural sports, it's easy to see why The Princeton Review calls our campus a "vibrant, social atmosphere."
