Social Action

The Office of Community Engagement and Service is home to the Social Action Center. We recognize that social action can mean a lot of things. We use social action to mean exercising individual and collective agency aimed at addressing issues of common concern. Social action can take many forms including but not limited to: individual volunteerism, organizational involvement, community building, and organized activism. Social action confronts systemic injustices. We believe that all people have the capacity to become powerful agents of change if only they are given the awareness, skills, and resources.
