Dr. Mike Curme joined Miami University's economics department in 1988. He was named Associate Dean for undergraduate Programs in the Farmer School of Business in 2007. Starting January 1, 2013, he is serving half-time in his role in the Farmer School and half-time as Interim Associate Vice President and Dean of Students.

Dr. Gwen Fears

Dr. Fears is the Associate Dean of
Students for Transition and Assessment. She began her position at Miami in
August 2011. Gwen oversees the offices of
New Student Programs and Second Year Programs. Additionally, she works on
assessment initiatives for the division of Student Affairs. Gwen earned a
doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Utah and
completed her Master of Science in Student Affairs in Higher Education and Bachelor
of Arts in Technical Journalism from Colorado State University. Prior to coming
to Miami, Gwen worked at the University of Utah and Western State College of
Colorado gaining experience in orientation, leadership development, parent
programming, National Student Exchange, and academic advising.

Linda Dixon

Ms. Dixon is the Associate Dean of Students for Retention and Learning Services in the Rinella Learning Center. She has served in various roles at Miami since 1990. She has been active in the Cincinnati community having served 11 years on the school board for Wyoming City Schools and 5 years on the YWCA board. She also served 7 years on the National College Learning Center Association’s executive board. Linda has a B.A. in English from Central State University, and an M.A. in English and M.Ed. in Secondary Education both from the University of Cincinnati. Linda has worked in higher education for over 35 years in both faculty and administrative staff positions.

Gerald Olson

Mr. Olson has been the Director of Residence Life since August, 2004. He has 30+ years working in housing & residence life and judicial affairs at four public institutions in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, and Ohio, including a three year stint as a coordinator of residence life at Miami from 1982-1985. In this role, Jerry is also responsible for oversight of first year advising.

Tim Parsons
Emergency Case Manager

Mr. Parsons began in the position of Emergency Case Manager in September of 2008. As the Emergency Case Manager, Tim helps to support students throughout the campus who are dealing with particularly stressful issues that may impact their ability to be successful at Miami. Tim graduated from Wright State University in 1996 with his Master of Science degree and is a licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Ohio. He also obtained his Master of Divinity degree in Theology from United Theological Seminary in 1993 and did his undergraduate work at the Ohio State University. Prior to coming to Miami, he and his family were living in Malaysia and working in an international school.

Susan Vaughn

Ms. Vaughn has worked in the Division of Student Affairs at Miami for 21 years and has been the Director of the Office of Ethics and Student Conflict Resolution (formerly Judicial Affairs) since 1996. Susan coordinated the Alcohol and Drug Education program for the first ten years of her career at Miami. She also serves as the Collegiate Chapter Director for the Alpha Chapter of Delta Zeta Sorority at Miami.

Gerald Yearwood

Mr. Yearwood has been with Miami University since July of 1999 where he served as Assistant Director for Educational Placement and Multicultural Career Services. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Social Welfare from St. Augustine’s College and a Master of Science degree in Higher Education Administration from Syracuse University. Gerald worked in the field of Mental Health and Substance Abuse at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, New York for fifteen years and was Chief of Addiction Services for the Syracuse Community Health Center. His career in higher education started at the University of Akron where he worked as an Academic Advisor and CHAMPS/Life Skills coordinator in the department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Gerald directs the daily operations in the Office of Diversity Affairs, form collaborations among the various divisions on campus and provides professional development and educational programming for Miami University students.
