Big-Little Sister Contract

As a big sister, you act as a mentor to the new member to help her become acclimated in her new sorority. Initially, you are someone to go to for questions, because of your knowledge and experience in the sorority. However, as time goes on you begin to share a special bond that represents your commitment to each other and the sorority. You are a role model and need to support your little sister in all situations that may arise.

Behaviors that are against the sorority’s standards of conduct behavior, and good taste is considered hazing. Furthermore, anything that causes mental anguish, physical discomfort, ridicule, and any form of embarrassment is hazing. The bullets below outline what will not be tolerated during Big-Little Week.

  • Delivering, exchanging, or giving alcohol or illegal substances to your little sister
  • Removal of clothing and inappropriate dancing as “gifts”
  • No blindfolding, restraining, or touching
  • No more than three men should be present in an individual’s dorm room when delivering gifts to the women at one time. Larger serenades may still take place in sorority suites or larger gathering rooms.
  • Noise during such visits should be kept under control as not to bother other students.

Please Note: No visitors or deliveries should be made after 11:00 p.m. during Big-Little Week.

By signing this contract, you are agreeing to the above terms and are acknowledging that you may be subject to disciplinary action from the Chapter, Panhellenic, and the University if you are found guilty of any hazing activities listed above. In addition, please understand that it is your duty to confront other chapter members and/or external participants that exhibit any inappropriate behaviors that violate the above regulations.
