Spotlight on Sigma Pi

On Saturday November 23rd, Sigma Pi donated over 1,300 cans to the Oxford Community Choice Pantry. Called "Thanksgiving Give Back", Sigma Pi and FIJI hosted this canned food drive to help support the local community in advance of the holiday season. The brothers saw first hand how other people so close to our campus live, and how much donations like this could help them enjoy the holiday season. In total, their chapter donated 607 pounds of food, equaling to be over 5 1/2 pounds per brother. This type of event is one that the brothers look to host more often as it showcased that even necessities such as food are needed by some so close to our homes.

Spotlight on Tau Kappa Epsilon

The Biennial TKE Conclave was held August 8-11, 2013 in D.C. at the Grand Hyatt Washington. Conclave is a celebration of brotherhood, where Tekes from all over the world come together for three days to select the leadership of the Fraternity, vote on changes to the governing rules and policies, and recognize the best and brightest Chapters. Top TKE Award is awarded to a chapter that has shown excellence in academic success, extracurriculars, community service, recruitment, size, and alumni relations. 8 out of 167 chapters were awarded Top TKE, but Delta Xi received the highest number of votes.

Spotlight on Zeta Tau Alpha

On Sunday, April 7th, Zeta Tau Alpha hosted its annual Pink Ribbon Run 5k. Participants ran or walked a 5k course that began on Central Quad and continued through campus. From this event, the chapter raised $2,200 for its philanthropy, which benefits breast cancer awareness and education. About 140 people attended the event, and they are thankful for all who came out to show support!

Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity is an organization that strives to create a nobler woman through service, scholarship, leadership, and personal growth. The creed encourages members "to prepare for service and learn the nobility of serving, thereby earning the right to be served." ZTA's annual Pink Ribbon Run is just one of the ways that they try to live out this value.

Spotlight on Delta Zeta

On Tuesday February 26, Delta Zeta held their annual philanthropy event, Puttin' On The Hits! They were thrilled with the turn out and are still receiving donations over a week later. The proceeds benefit St. Rita's School for the Deaf in Cincinnati. It was particularly touching to have children attend and perform. They looked forward to the event for weeks!

DZ was so happy to have new members actively involved as well. They had a chance to meet each fraternity and sorority through coaching the event. It was a huge success and this year brought the entire Miami community together for a great cause.
