ACROPOLIS is a high potential leaders weekend for students that have been recently initiated. This program examines personal leadership initiatives that serves as a foundation for future leadership opportunities within one's chapter and the community.

Fire Safety and House Manager Training

IFC Fire Safety and House Managers Training takes place for all fraternity chapters in the Fall and Spring.

Greek Step Up

Greek Step Up is a bystander intervention program that looks at the topics of Hazing, Sexual Violence, Drug and Alcohol Abuse. Each New Member who has joined since the last Greek Step Up program is required to attend. Sessions will be held from Mid-February to Early March. You will sign up through the TRAIN system on MyMiami.

There are two options to register for your session:

1. Register at the TRAIN system.
2. Access the TRAIN system and follow the directions:

• • Log onto Miami University’s web site www.miamioh.edu/train.
  • Log on using your unique I.D. and password.
  • Select Learning Opportunities.
  • Select Topics.
  • Select Alcohol Education Training Programs.
  • Five (5) training programs will appear. Select SAF-GNM Greek New Member Education.
  • A list of all the sessions will appear. Click on the day and time you are interested in taking.
  • All of the information for that particular session will then come up - day, time, location, number of seats available, etc. If you want to register for that session, click on the Register for Session (gray box in the lower corner).
  • You will receive an e-mail confirmation when the class enrollment reaches its minimum required number and 48 hours before class.

If you cannot attend the class you registered for, you need to cancel your registration. Here's how to cancel your registration in TRAIN:

1. Log into TRAIN.
2. Click on My Account.
3. Click on Current Enrollments.
4. Check the box beside the Workshop Name you would like to cancel.
5. Click the Cancel Enrollment button.

Please enroll for only one class.

Concurrent registrations will cancel all your registration dates except the first one (by calendar date e.g. if you register for February 20 and 22, your registration for February 22 will automatically cancel).

New Member Convocation

New Member Convocation is an opportunity for all New Members of the Miami Fraternity and Sorority Community to come together and learn about how to maximize their experience. This event occurs after recruitment in February.

Advance

Designed for our community leadership, chapter presidents, and council executive board officers, ADVANCE allows our leaders to work towards optimal effectiveness within their chapters and councils while building a sense of community.

Leaders will participate in a weekend leadership program that will guide the conversation and goals for the year. Monthly, leaders will gather during Tri-Council meetings to ADVANCE the community, participate in difficult conversation, and promote collaboration among all organizations.

Friendships and Mental Health Program

Through an exciting partnership with the Student Counseling Service Office, we are able to provide a new and unique opportunity for your chapters to receive online training for Friendships and Mental Health. This program focuses on teaching students to recognize signs of distress and connect fellow students with support services.

This training fulfills the Brotherhood/Sisterhood requirement for wellness. Because it is an online program your members can complete the training remotely and at any time.

Following completion of the program, contact the Student Counseling Service Office to schedule an in-person debrief with your chapter.

SEAL Workshops

The Office of Student Activities and the Cliff Alexander Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life, in partnership with ASG and a variety of campus departments, presents a workshop series focused on helping student organizations on campus. Topics range from the practical (how do we plan a successful event?) to developmental (how can I effectively discuss my co-curricular experience in a job interview?). Organizations participating in Red Brick Rewards will need to attend the required number of SEAL Workshops. Visit the SEAL Workshops page to view a full list of upcoming programs.

EDL 290G

This two credit hour course is a fraternity and sorority leadership course designed to enhance your personal leadership through the lens of the Greek experience. We will help you explore your chapter leadership experience by identifying and studying the transferable skills that fraternal leadership can provide post graduation. This course is usually offered each semester. For more information contact the Cliff Alexander Office at fsll@miamioh.edu.

WGS 201 Introduction to Women's Studies for Sorority Women

Join us for this interdisciplinary introduction to the study of women. This class focuses on determinants and expressions of women's roles. This course is usually offered each Spring.

Undergraduate InterFraternity Institute (UIFI)

UIFI is a 5-day journey, with each day building upon the one previous. UIFI offers participants the opportunity to explore, define, and enhance their leadership skills, personal awareness, commitment to their fraternity or sorority and grow to expect values-based action from themselves and those they lead.

The institute is interactive, fun, challenging, and intentional. During a session, you'll experience hands-on interaction, experiential activities, discussion time, and personal reflection time. There is considerable focus on the positive aspects of fraternities and sororities in addition to important discussions about issues that threaten our future.

UIFI is the preeminent leadership development experience for fraternity and sorority members, and is an experience unlike any other; it is not a conference or a workshop—it is a uniquely holistic journey that you share with other interfraternal brothers and sisters. A UIFI graduate not only learns important leadership lessons, but also reaches deep inside themselves to find their true fraternal calling.

Your journey will include discussions on purpose, courage, leadership, integrity, and vision. Your work will be done both in full-group sessions and in small discussion groups called “chapters.” You will interact with peers from all over North America and with mentors that work professionally in fraternity and sorority life.
