January Orientation - January 21-22, 2016

January Orientation, for first year and transfer students and their families, is a one-and-a-half day program that helps new students learn about academic and co-curricular life at Miami, meet other new students, learn about campus resources, receive academic advising, and register for spring semester classes.

Registration for January orientation is online through students' myMiami portal, and is open as of December 1, 2015.  To register, students should login to their myMiami portal, select the "Welcome" tab, and find the link that says "Register for January Orientation" in the new student checklist.  Registration for January orientation will close on January 14, 2016, at 5pm in order for us to prepare for the program.  Walk-ins will be accepted, but we strongly urge you to register for the program before January 14, 2016 - it'll be much more convenient for everyone that way.

New students who live on campus and participate in the January orientation program can request to move in to their assigned residence hall room as early as 8am on Wednesday, January 20, 2016; students will submit their move-in date as part of January orientation registration (extra charges apply).  Upon arrival for January orientation, students should first go to the HOME Office (Housing Options, Meals and Events) at 129 Campus Avenue Building (corner of Spring Street and Campus Avenue) to get their Miami ID, which serves as the residence hall key to their on-campus room.

Visit the links in the menu on the left side of this page to learn more about January orientation.  If you have specific questions about the program, please contact the Office of New Student Programs at 513-529-9771 or email
