The commuter student population on the Oxford campus is relatively small compared to the residential student population here at Miami. These students bring with them a variety of backgrounds and experiences, as they may be first-year students, upper-class students, Evan's Scholars, students who have been relocated from the Hamilton or Middletown campuses or who take classes at multiple campuses, or non-traditional students.

Housing Exemption

Because Miami University maintains a two-year on-campus residency requirement, students who plan to commute must complete the Miami University Residency Requirement Exemption Form, available on the House Options, Meals and Events (H.O.M.E.) office website under Housing Forms and Documents. An affidavit is required for students who are applying for exemption based on community from residence with a parent/guardian, spouse or dependent child/children.
