January Orientation - Arrival and Parking

Planning Your Travel

Our campus in Oxford is located in southwest Ohio, approximately a one hour drive from Cincinnati or Dayton. The university visit website includes helpful details to plan your travel to orientation, including directions, travel options, off-campus accommodations, and even local restaurants, churches, and parking.

Arriving at Miami

If you are using a GPS to navigate to campus, you may set your destination to the Campus Avenue Building (commonly known as "CAB"), at 301 Campus Avenue, Oxford OH, 45056. You may utilize available parking spaces in surface lots near the CAB with your orientation parking pass. You may also park in the Campus Avenue Garage (601 Campus Avenue) or at metered spaces near CAB, though you must pay the fees associated with these spaces, as the orientation parking pass will not cover them.

Upon arrival, your first stop is the Campus Avenue Building, at 301 S. Campus Avenue, on the corner of Spring Street and Campus Avenue. Visit the HOME Office in room 129 CAB to receive your student ID card. If you will be living on campus, you will use your Miami ID for access to your residence hall and your residence hall room. Please allow time to to pick up your student ID before the start of January orientation program at the Armstrong Student Center (Armstrong is about two blocks from CAB). You'll also need to eat lunch on your own before the start of the orientation program; several convenient dining options are available within the Armstrong Student Center.

Parking

Students and guests who have registered for January orientation will receive an orientation parking pass via email approximately one week prior to the program in their detailed orientation confirmation. Print the parking pass and display it in your vehicle dashboard as you move in to your residence hall room, and for parking during January orientation. If you are unable to print the parking pass, we will have copies of the printed parking pass available at orientation check-in at the Armstrong Student Center.

The orientation parking pass is the equivalent to a red permit, which will enable you to park in any lot or legal parking space on campus (i.e., no yellow curbs). If you choose to park in one of Miami’s parking garages, you will be responsible for the garage fee. If you choose to park in a metered parking space, you will need to feed the meter throughout the day. We are not able to reimburse for garage or metered parking.

If you need to purchase a campus parking pass for use during the school year, visit the HOME Office in room 128 Campus Avenue Building (same building where you receive your student ID) to do so.
