Relocation Students

Relocation students are those students who have been enrolled primarily at a Miami University regional campus (at Hamilton or Middletown) and then shift to Oxford to take one or more classes.

Though relocation students are already Miami students, the process of transitioning to a new campus can include unique challenges and necessitate particular types of support. The Office of Orientation and Transition Programs on the Oxford campus, in collaboration with staff at the Hamilton and Middletown campuses, offers support for relocation students as they prepare to shift to the Oxford campus.

Support for students relocating to the Oxford campus includes:

  • An orientation experience before each semester begins, with custom programs for relocation students
  • An open invitation to consult with staff in Orientation and Transition Programs on resources or questions about navigating the Oxford campus
  • UNV101, an optional, 1-credit course entitled, "I Am Miami" that supports students in their transition to Miami. A special section is typically offered each semester that is tailored for transfer students.
