January Orientation - Relocation Students

The Office of Orientation and Transition Programs is eager to welcome students who are relocating to the Oxford campus from one of Miami's regional campuses.  To help you become acquainted with your new community, we invite you to January Relocation Orientation on Tuesday, January 17, from 4-7pm on the Oxford campus, Kreger Hall, Room 319.  This program is designed specifically for relocation students and guests; there is no cost to attend.

The deadline to register is Monday, January 16, at 8am.  If you would like to register after the deadline, please call the Office of Orientation and Transition Programs at 513-529-9771.

At relocation orientation, you will:

  • Meet other new relocation students
  • Take a campus tour, and identify the buildings where your classes will be held
  • Discover campus resources for academic and co-curricular success
  • Learn about resources that will help you navigate and do business on campus, such as parking and bill payment
  • Talk with Oxford staff about any questions you have

Schedule:

  • 4-5pm (optional) campus tour: find the location of your spring semester classes, as well as important campus resources such as King Library, the Rec Center, and the Student Health Service.  If you do not need a campus tour, please join us at (location tba) at 5pm.
  • 5-5:30pm: meet & greet, campus parking & transportation
  • 5:30-6:00pm: safety, emergency resources, and community expectations
  • 6:00-6:20pm: campus resources for academic and co-curricular success
  • 6:20-6:55pm: visit to the One Stop for Student Success Services (Campus Avenue Building); overview of One Stop services (bill payment, financial aid, registration services)
  • 6:55-7:00pm: additional questions & wrap-up

Childcare will not be provided, but students who have children are welcome to bring them along; each student may bring up to two family members or guests.  If you would like to eat dinner before or after the program, the Armstrong Student Center, with several dining options, is next door to Kreger Hall, where relocation orientation will be held.

There is no fee for relocation orientation, though you should bring money for dinner if you wish to eat on campus after the program (dining locations at the Armstrong Student Center accept cash or credit).  If you have additional questions please contact the Office of Orientation and Transition Programs at 513-529-9771 or email orientation@miamioh.edu.
