Individual Academic Counseling Sessions

Students meet with a Learning Specialist to evaluate their learning goals and to develop a plan for action. Goals could include developing better study strategies, improving performance, or discussing ideas for optimizing their educational experience. 

Students who are interested in meeting with a Learning Specialist should contact the Rinella Learning Center's main line at 513-529-8741. Meetings are available most times during the semester. 

Topics that could be discussed during one-on-one meeting with a Learning Specialist include:

  • Self Care - Sleep, Health, Personal Space
  • Time Management - Class Attendance, Tardiness, Study Time, Budgeting Time for Assignments, Keeping an Organizer or Planner
  • Organization - Notes, Course Material, Tracking Assignments & Due Dates
  • Study Skills - Note Taking, Reading Completion, Reading Comprehension, Reviewing Material, Study Aids
  • Test Taking - Developing Exam Preparation Materials, Self Testing
  • Motivation & Attitude - Feeling Overwhelmed or Frustrated, Perfectionism
