Mental Health First Aid

Below are the scheduled Mental Health First Aid Trainings for this semester on the Oxford campus: 

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)

THU, March 28, 2019 (8 AM to 5 PM)

The MHFA program is an 8-hour community mental health education program that is informative and highly interactive. The program equips non-mental health professionals with knowledge and skills to recognize emerging mental health problems or crises and link people to appropriate care. Please be prepared to engage with the instructors and other course participants.  

Location: MU Staff Development Center (424 Wells Mill Dr.), Room 110, Oxford OH 45056

Instructors: John Ward, PhD & Melissa Schultz, PhD

Cost: Free (sponsored by Student Counseling Service and Oxford Community Coalition)

Open to any community member, Miami University Undergraduate/Graduate Student, Faculty and/or Staff

The course will start promptly at 8:00 am. Please arrive a few minutes early to sign in. We will break around noon for lunch (on your own).

For certification purposes the full eight hours of the training course must be attended. 

Those who complete this course could be designated as "Mental Health Allies" by Student Counseling Service.
