U-Lead is the annual leadership development pre-semester experience for up to 50 incoming first year Miami students. It's a 4-day, interactive experience designed specifically to introduce students to opportunities at Miami and within the Oxford community.

Students learn about leadership through small group sessions, participate in a low and high ropes course, complete a service project, and more! U-Lead participants get to know each other, current Miami students, and staff at Miami over the course of 4 days as the program is led by current undergraduate and graduate students.

U-Lead is a great way for first-year students to jump start their college experience and begin to explore involvement opportunities!

Please check back soon for details about the 2019 U-Lead Program.

2018 U-Lead Program: August 20-23

  • Open to 50 members of Miami's Class of 2022.
    • In order to attend U-Lead, students must have attended a Summer Orientation program in June.
    • U-Lead participants are eligible for only one pre-semester program (i.e. cannot participate in both U-Lead and MADE@Miami).
  • Online registration is available and is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
    • Once the program reaches capacity, students will be accepted on a waitlist.
    • We expect students to register themselves.
  • The participant fee is $125 (applied to participants' bursar bills in August).
    • If participants are living in the residence halls, they will also be charged three nights of early arrival housing by Miami's Campus Services Center. This fee is set and collected by the Campus Services Center.
    • After registering for U-Lead, participants will receive information about U-Lead scholarship applications they can complete to help cover part of the $125 U-Lead participant fee.
  • Please contact wilksleadership@MiamiOH.edu with any questions. Wilks' business hours are M-F 8am-5pm.
