Wellness Modules

Some upperclass students recently received a letter in the mail about the requirement to complete the online courses: AlcoholEdu for College (AlcoholEdu), and Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates (SAPU). This letter was intended for the incoming class only; upper class students can disregard. We apologize for any confusion.

Miami requires all incoming first-year and transfer Oxford students to complete two online educational modules before starting classes.

  • AlcoholEdu for College (AlcoholEdu for short)
  • Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates (SAPU for short)

SAPU is also required for all regional students.

Timeline

You can access both courses starting July 6, 2023 and you must complete both modules by August 21, 2023.

To access the course, log in to your orientation canvas module through MyMiami or click the link in your email invitation.

If you have questions about the modules, contact the program administrators in the Office of Student Wellness at wellnessmodule@miamioh.edu or 513-529-7893.

About AlcoholEdu for College

AlcoholEdu is a two-hour alcohol educational course required for all incoming first-year students. Used by over 500 institutions around the country, AlcoholEdu applies science-based research to educate students about alcohol and its effects. First-year students receive information about AlcoholEdu during orientation and mailings over the summer.

About Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates

Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates (SAPU) is an interactive online course that uses a population-level approach to educate all students on the issues associated with sexual assault and interpersonal violence. SAPU helps students learn about healthy relationships, consent, and creating a positive, safe campus community.

Miami University requires each member of the first-year class to complete SAPU as a component of the educational requirements of the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act (“VAWA”), signed into law on March 7, 2014. First-year students receive information about SAPU during orientation and mailings over the summer.
