Forum Subgroups

The Communicators' Forum subgroups offer communications and marketing professionals at Miami an opportunity to dive deeper into specific subject areas. These subgroups will be hands-on and highly collaborative, allowing for members to share ideas and information.

Analytics

Confused by all the data and tools available to assess your digital channels? This subgroup, led by UCM’s marketing analyst, will help group members better understand the tools that are available, as well as help interpret and use the data to sharpen your marketing strategies.

Content Strategy

The Content Strategy subgroup, led by UCM’s Manager of Content Strategy and the Director of University News, includes communicators from units across campus whose job primarily involves writing for publications, websites, the media, and other platforms. The group focuses on best practices, challenges, trends in writing and presentation, and training. Networking with other writers proves invaluable and helps recharge the creative process.

Design

Struggling with design principles? This subgroup, led by UCM's Director of Creative Services, covers all facets of design and creativity, including such topics as best practices, recent work, trends, typography, portfolio/project reviews, and tips and training. It's also an opportunity to connect with fellow creatives and share success stories and design challenges.

Marketing and Branding

Led by UCM's Senior Director of Marketing and the Director of Brand Strategy, the Marketing and Branding subgroup will take a deep dive into how to better market your programs or colleges. It will also help members gain a better understanding of Miami's brand standards and guidelines.

Social Media

Led by the UCM’s Assistant Director of Digital Marketing and Social Media, this subgroup will highlight best practices in engaging on social media. It will also help group members in creating dynamic and robust social channels for their departments and units.

Web Development

Led by UCM’s Manager of Web Development, this subgroup will explore issues surrounding website design. From Cascade usage to web design principles to the everyday headaches we encounter in maintaining sites, the web development subgroup will offer strategies and practical tools to help individuals make the most of their websites.
