Creating/Editing a Universal Page

Upload Images

All images used in your page must first be sized appropriately and uploaded to the images folder: _files/images/YOUR FOLDER.

Create and Publish Widgets

Any widgets that you want to use in a page must first be created and published before it can be added to page. Widgets are stored in your widget folder: _files/widgets/WIDGET TYPE/YOUR FOLDER.

Get Started

  1. Highlight to the folder in the asset tree into which you want to create a new page.
  2. Click New/ Page/ Folder with Universal Page.

This will create both the folder and the index page.

Edit Folder Metadata

Display name: (This field displays in the left navigation.)
Title: (This field does not display. It is standard practice to make it the same as the Display name.)

  3. Page Content: Use the WYSIWYG editing tools or HTML to add your body content.

Applying paragraph or heading formats.

Content styles used throughout Miami's Universal Sub-pages. All font sizes listed below are assuming that font size on the body tag of the site has been set to 100%. Headings should be applied based on the hierarchy of the content, rather than the desired text style. You do not have to use every heading but cannot "skip around". Using headings 3 and 5 together is a popular choice (for pages with two levels of hierarchy) because they are both red. Never choose H1 as that is only for page titles.

Body content is generally Helvetica font. The color is black: #000

Apply a heading to text by highlighting text with your cursor. Then choose from the Format drop down menu. Always start with H2 and work down in consecutive order.
