PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, the assurance, tax and advisory services firm, announced its continued support of Miami University and the Campaign For Love and Honor at an event held on the Oxford campus, March 22.

Following an Executive Speaker Series presentation by Dennis Nally, chairman and senior partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers US firm, a $1.1 million gift to Miami University was announced. This newest commitment is a result of the comprehensive efforts of PricewaterhouseCoopers partners, professional staff and the PwC Foundation and benefits the university, faculty and students.

The PricewaterhouseCoopers gift creates an endowed chair position for a junior faculty member in accounting in the Farmer School of Business. This gift qualifies as part of the Farmer Matching Challenge to establish assistant professor chairs and will be matched by $400,000 from a leadership gift pledged in 2005 by Richard T. and Joyce B. Farmer and the Farmer Family Foundation.

In addition to establishing an assistant professor chair, the PricewaterhouseCoopers commitment continues providing scholarships and other programmatic activities within the Farmer School , as well as continued support for Miami 's LeaderShape Institute.

Jay Henderson, managing partner of the Chicago office of PricewaterhouseCoopers and a Miami University Board of Trustees member, said, "PricewaterhouseCoopers believes in the value of investing in higher education and in the Farmer School , which consistently produces high performing individuals who build successful careers with our firm."

"PricewaterhouseCoopers has been a long-time supporter of Miami University , and its contributions - especially in faculty development and in student scholarships - play an important role in developing tomorrow's leaders," said Miami University President David C. Hodge. PricewaterhouseCoopers is also the founding sponsor of the Governance, Risk Management and Reporting (GRMR) Conference, launched last May at Miami and held April 26-27, 2007 . Previous support from the firm includes endowment of the PwC Professorship in Accountancy and the Kelly Booms Memorial Scholarship in the Farmer School .
