MTH 217 Mathematics for Middle Childhood Teachers: Structure of Arithmetic and Algebra (3)

Service Course. A systematic study of the underlying properties and structures of arithmetic and algebra with an emphasis on the rationals and irrationals. Topics include modular arithmetic, problem solving, decimals, ratio, percent, proportion, and number theory. Open only to middle childhood education majors with a concentration in mathematics.

Prerequisite: MTH 151 or 153.
