SPN 292 Language and the Latin American Diaspora (3)

This is a course on the sociolinguistic manifestations of the Latin American diaspora, with concentration on the US and Spain as two parallel but not equal migratory contexts. Students will study the historic causes and social consequences of linguistic phenomena such as social bilingualism, language contact, language policy, and language in the mass media.
