The University Honors Program is designed to enhance the Miami experience for our most motivated, intellectually curious students. The primary pathway by which students enter our program is through their college admission to Miami University. Current Miami students and transfer applicants can also seek admission to the University Honors Program.


There are no minimum criteria to be considered for the University Honors Program. Please review the appropriate information below to learn more about the respective admission processes. Students who are admitted into the program typically have outstanding academic records and impressive accomplishments outside of the classroom.

Application Process

Prospective High School Students

High school students who wish to be considered for admission into Honors College must indicate their interest on the Common Application. The student will then receive communication on how to complete the application to be considered for Honors College

Prospective Transfer Students

The Office of Admission identifies Miami's best transfer applicants and invites them to the University Honors Program. Transfer students who wish to be considered for admission into the University Honors Program should direct questions about this process to their Admission counselor.

Current Students

Miami students on the Oxford campus may apply during their first year to the University Honors Program. Students who wish to be considered for admission into the University Honors Program during their first year may visit Current Student Admission for more information.

Current Regional Campus Students

Regional campus students who wish to be considered for admission into the Regional University Honors Program may visit Honors at Miami Regionals for information.
