Meet Our Team

Campus Services Marketing

Jess Young | Director of Retail and Marketing

As the newest addition to the Marketing team, I hope to honor the past while steering the department into the future. My goals focus on four key strategies:

  • Protect the Miami University Brand while helping every Campus Services department realize their full potential to reach their audiences in the most genuine, transparent, and effective manner.
  • Create new and exciting synergies with internal and external stakeholders through new partnerships, products, and endeavors.
  • Streamline processes, creating efficiencies and unrealized capacity to scale our operational capabilities in the areas of consultative strategy, expanded account management, and excellent coordinated public relations delivery.
  • Develop marketing metrics & analytics reported yearly.

My previous experience stems from a decade with Starbucks during their most transformative years (2007 to 2017) where I was able to implement and drive change at every level in the retail sector. I am also privileged to have earned my MBA’15 in Marketing from Miami University, be a Miami Merger, and launch my first of four daughters as an undergraduate (’21) at my alma mater. Love and Honor! I love to hang out with my family, exercise, lead community service initiatives, read books on business strategy & leadership, and enjoy palette knife painting when I find a free minute.

Missy Davish | Manager of Marketing

Missy Davish lives in a world where empty spaces are her canvas. As a Marketing Manager, she has covered vast areas of Miami’s housing, dining, recreation and business service spaces with her graphic designs in all forms of print media. Missy has a creative vision for empty and unusual spaces that can become an advertising win all around campus.

Missy has a BFA in Graphic Design and a minor in Business from Bowling Green State University. Her professional career has consisted of several design positions, including the University of Toledo and Five Rivers MetroParks in Dayton, Ohio. In addition, she has held managerial positions in both social media and large format printing. Missy joined the management staff at Miami University in 2013.

When Missy is not leading the marketing efforts of the largest department on campus, you can find her teaching gymnastics, boating with friends and coming up with the next cool craft idea.

Patti Ann Cossel | Marketing Intern

Patti Ann is recently graduated from Miami University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Architecture. After graduation she started working for HDRBS Marketing as an Intern, mainly running the print shop and handling marketing requests. Patti has recently started acting as an account representative for the Miami University Bookstore. While not at work Patti Ann enjoys hiking, reading, cooking, and creating art.

Seth Turner | Social Media Intern

I really enjoy the power of social media and how it connects people from all over the world. Through this position, I am growing as a young professional and adding skills that I don’t think I could learn anywhere but here at Miami University in the HDRBS marketing department.

When I’m not working, I love spending time with friends and family, binging tv shows, being outside, hiking, and traveling as much as possible.

Goggin Ice Center

Rhonda Strunk | Assistant Director of Administrative Services

I have been at Miami University for over 27 years and I still enjoy coming to work. I oversee the administrative offices as well as the marketing/social media team… I call them my Creative Team. I truly believe without my talented Miami student staff I’d NEVER get it all done. I learn so much from them every single year.

Goggin Ice Center offers many opportunities for MU students, faculty and staff as well as for the families in Oxford and the surrounding communities. With programming for both youth and adults, we have many opportunities for creative marketing outlets. Ronda believes the input from her talented Miami student staff is what keeps the marketing content fresh and interesting.

Conference and Event Services

Kathy Crowley | Senior Manager of Sales and Marketing for Conference and Event Services

I love to connect human beings, with others, with assistance, with leadership, with enthusiasm, and with success. I enjoy public speaking, small group projects, and meeting new people. I get drained by boring meetings and I get charged by brainstorming and collaboration.

Love sand in my toes for at least two weeks out of the year and shopping is my therapy. I’ve worked since I was 11 years old and don’t know what I would do without extra shopping money.

I see the world through the big picture window. Ideas for the next big thing are always on my mind. I leave the details to those who are best at them. Generating positive energy and avoiding the naysayers is my mantra.
