Student Achievements
Emily Mavis Erdmann - double major in French and Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies, has been awarded a Fulbright Scholarship. She will be an English Teaching Assistant in Russia during the 2019-20 academic year.
Emily Froude, double major in International Studies and Political Science and minors in Spanish and Arabic, is an alternate for the David L. Boren Scholarship. Emily will enroll in the School for International Training's Geopolitics, International Relations, and the Future of the Middle East program in Jordan during spring semester 2020, followed by the CIEE Summer Arabic Language program at the University of Jordan during summer term.
August John Hagemann, double major in Economics and Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies has been awarded the 2019-2020 Ann Louise Wilkinson Scholarship. This scholarship is given to a deserving undergraduate student who is currently conducting research.
Abigail F. Flurley graduated in Dec. ;18 with a major in Physics and a minor in German. She has accepted an English Teaching Assistant position in Klagenfurt Austria.
Max Micheli, double major in International Studies and East Asian Languages and Cultures, has been awarded the David L. Boren Scholarship to support his study abroad programs in China. Max will spend spring semester 2020 in Chengdu with the USAC program at Southwest Minzu University and the following summer with CET at Flarbin Institute of Technology.
Sophia Pauken, international studies and German double major, is an alternate in Arabic for the Critical Language Scholarship program. This competitive scholarship fully funds a summer immersion program for languages not commonly taught in the United States.
