Tze Yean Lim, instructor of violin at Miami University, holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Violin from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). He has studied with Won-Bin Yim, Naoko Tanaka, Philip Ruder, members of the LaSalle and Tokyo String Quartet. He was a member of the faculty string quartet at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio and was the director of the Northern Kentucky Youth Orchestra.

Lim has presented solo violin recitals in Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Australia, South Africa, and throughout the United States. He performed numerous times at conferences of the College Music Society and the Ohio Music Educators’ Association.

Besides performing, Lim also maintains a studio of gifted young violinists, several of whom have appeared as soloists with the Louisville Orchestra, the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, the Cincinnati Youth Symphony Orchestra, and the Central and Northern Kentucky Youth Orchestras. One of his top students had appeared in the National Public Radio program From the Top that features talented young musicians. His students are frequent participants in prestigious summer music programs such as the Aspen Summer Music Festival, the Meadowmount School of Music, and the Tanglewood Summer Music School.

Lim is also also currently on the faculty at the CCM Preparatory Department in Cincinnati.
