Classical Counterparts: Oxford Chamber Music Series "Morales, Masters and Friends" Nov. 17

morales-posterClassical Counterparts presents "Morales, Masters and Friends" at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, at the Oxford Community Arts Center.  Classical Counterparts is part of the Miami University Performing Arts Series Oxford Chamber Music Series.

Tickets, $15 adult/senior and $10 student/youth, are available at the box office in Shriver Center.

Jaime Morales-Matos, associate professor of trombone, will introduce his family in a program of Brahms and Glinka. They will also perform a world premiere piece by Cincinnati-based composer, performer and educator Sonia Morales-Matos.

The concert features Ricardo Morales, Philadelphia Orchestra principal clarinetist, and Amy Oshiro-Morales, violinist with the Philadelphia Orchestra. They will be joined by pianist Bruce Murray, chair and professor of music at Miami.

Morales-Matos is known for his musical versatility as both a performer and a conductor. He has performed with several professional orchestras including the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, New World Symphony and the Asturias, Granada and Galicia Symphony orchestras in Spain. He has also performed as a featured soloist with international orchestras including the Puerto Rico Symphony and the Bangor Symphony.

He also serves as music director for both the Central Ohio Symphony Orchestra and the Clermont Philharmonic.
