How to Schedule an Advising Appointment

Step 1: Log into MyMiami. Click the letter "S" quick links on the right side of the home page. Scroll down and click "SSC - Campus."

Step 2 : You will be redirected to Navigate, the online advising appointment scheduling system. At the top right corner, click "Schedule an Appointment."

From myMiami,  you will be redirected to Navigate, the online advising appointment scheduling system.  At the top right corner, of the Navigate Student Home page, click “Schedule an Appointment.”

Step 3 : On the next screen you will see a drop down menu. Under Appointment Type, select “Advising”. Under Please Choose a Location below, select “Oxford - CSE Advising.” Under Please select the option below that best suits your needs, select CSE Advising. Then click "Next".

After you click "Schedule an Appointment," you will go to the next page of the appointment scheduling system.  Three items will appear one after the other.  On the next screen you will see a drop down menu.  Under Appointment Type, select “Advising”.  Under Please Choose a Location below, select “Oxford - CSE Advising.”  Under Please select the option below that best suits your needs, select CSE Advising.  Then click “Next”.

Step 4 : You will be taken to the next page. Under Confirm the Location Below, select "CSE Advising Office - 205 Benton Hall". Under You may select the person you wish to meet with, choose your assigned advisor . Then click "Next".

After you select the appointment type, location, and type of advising service, you will be directed to the next set of drop down menus.  Under Confirm the Location Below, select “CSE Advising Office - 205 Benton Hall”.  Under You may select the person you wish to meet with, choose your assigned advisor.  Then click “Next”.

Step 5 : The next page will show a weekly calendar with morning and afternoon availabilities. If you prefer to meet during a later week, select the right facing arrow on the top right corner of the screen to show future dates. When you find the day that you would like to meet with your advisor, click either the morning or afternoon box.

After you select the location and advisor you would like to meet with, the selected advisor's weekly calendar will appear. Step 6 : A drop down menu of times that you and your advisor are mutually available will appear. Click on the time that you want to meet. The time will be highlighted in blue. Then click "close" at the top of the box.

Step 7: The next screen will show the details of who you will meet with, when, and where the appointment will take place. In the text box on the bottom left side, please enter an informative note to your advisor about what you would like to discuss during your appointment. Then click "Confirm Appointment."

Once you have selected a time, the next screen will show the appointment details of who you will meet with, when, and where the appointment will take place. In the text box on the bottom left side, please enter an informative note to your advisor about what you would like to discuss during your appointment, for example "adding a second major in Economics." Then click “Confirm Appointment.”

Step 8 : You will be redirected to a confirmation page that says "Success! Your Appointment Has Been Created." A confirmation email will also be sent to your Miami email address.

How to Cancel an Advising Appointment

Step 1 : Log into myMiami. Click the letter "S" quick links on the right side of the home page. Scroll down and click "SSC - Campus."

Step 2: Now you should be on your Navigate homepage. On the far right side, under Upcoming Appointments, click the appointment you would like to cancel.

When you click "SSC - Campus," you will be redirected to Navigate, the online advising appointment system.  On the far right side, under Upcoming Appointments, click the title of the appointment you would like to cancel.

Step 3: After clicking on the appointment you wish to cancel, a dialogue box will appear. On the bottom left, click "Cancel My Attendance."

When you click on the appointment, a pop up box will appear with the who, what, when, and where details of the appointment.  On the bottom left of the box, click “Cancel My Attendance.”

Step 4: Select the reason to cancel your appointment from the drop down menu.

When you click "cancel my attendance," you will be asked to select the reason to cancel your appointment from the drop-down menu.

Step 5: In the comments box, write a brief note to your advisor about why you needed to cancel and when you plan to reschedule another appointment. The click the blue "Mark as Cancelled" box.

After you select your reason for canceling, in the comments box, write a brief note to your advisor about why you needed to cancel and when you plan to reschedule another appointment.  Then click “Mark as Cancelled" in the right corner of the box.

Step 6 : Once you click "Mark as Cancelled," a confirmation will appear on the screen that says "Appointment Cancelled" and give the details of the appointment you cancelled. You should also receive a confirmation email of the cancellation in your Miami email account.
