The John E. Dolibois Award

The John E. Dolibois Faculty Award for Innovation in Global Programming recognizes a Miami University faculty member whose leadership of an academic program abroad or away demonstrates innovation in international education programming, commits to increasing intercultural competency among Miami University students, and contributes to the global objectives of Miami 2020. Dr. Koo received $1500 in professional development funds and name recognition on a plaque in the Global Initiatives office in MacMillan Hall.

Evolving Program

Finding meaningful projects for his students has been a driving program evolution, projects that are larger than incremental engineering.   Over the five years this evolution has created partnerships with non-profit organizations in Korea, Laos, and Nepal. Students who began with the offered summer workshops requested the opportunity to continue working on their projects turning them into year-long senior design projects.
