
The Bachelor of Science in Education Studies is designed for students who desire a career in education outside the classroom. Since education studies is not tied to teacher certification students have the flexibility to explore a wide range of education topics. The core curriculum provides students with a solid foundation in education including research and discussion of youth, families, health, wellness and justice issues. Tailored to meet your interests, we offer the following concentration areas: Creativity, Innovation and Learning; Equity and Educational Change; or Social Entrepreneurship and Education.
In addition, the program requires students to complete a capstone experience.

Education Studies majors are also well-positioned to pursue graduate programs in education-related fields. Our graduates have successfully matriculated into Master of Education degrees in Student Affairs in Higher Education, Comparative and International Education, and Teaching and Learning programs at leading universities.

Our Education Studies majors are often encouraged to apply for a number of opportunities including the Civic Summer Fellows. It is a new, paid internship program providing Miami students opportunities to enhance civic knowledge and skills to work as leaders with local/regional communities, focusing on fields of education, non-profit, and social justice-oriented community organizations.
