Request A Center for Career Exploration & Success Workshop

Career Assistants are available to student organizations or residence halls to educate students in writing a powerful resume and/or better leveraging LinkedIn, among other topics.

To request a presentation, please email ca-request@miamioh.edu at least one week in advance of your workshop.

NOTE: the group is responsible for organizing the location and technology, if any, including:

  • laptop
  • projector
  • a blank wall or screen
  • any cords needed to connect the laptop and/or projector

Fall Semester 2017 Programs and Courses

Career Development Course

The Center for Career Exploration & Success offers a two-credit, semester-long career development course: EDL 100 - Career Development for the College Student. EDL100 is open to first-year students and sophomores and takes students through the exploration process of learning about one's self (through testing and assignments), learning about majors and careers, and learning how to find the best "fit" between themselves and potential career paths.

The Center for Career Exploration & Success invites you to participate in our Career Exploration Series which invites Miami Alumni to campus to share their insights and professional journeys as well as speak to the skills and experiences they are looking for in their interns and employees. Regardless of your major, these panels will provide you with an understanding of viable career options and valuable networking opportunities.

Career Exploration Webinars: What is it and how do you do it?

Finding a job or a career that "fits" can be a challenge. You must determine what careers are available, what your interests are, and what skills are required. Numerous resources are available to help you get a sense of your interests and skills, as well as gain employment experience and learn about employment opportunities. This webinar will cover all things related to "career exploration," such as LinkedIn, alumni network, job shadows, faculty relationships, mentors, industry research, informational interviewing, and much more! This webinar is highly encouraged prior to attending a career exploration panel.
