Harnett Family Discover U in Business Summer Program

Program Description

The Harnett Family Discover U in Business is designed to expose top multicultural (African
American, American Indian, Hispanic, Pacific Islander, or first generation) high school students
to the Farmer School of Business and to top global businesses in the country. Selected students will participate in workshops focusing on leadership, social media, branding, teams, and professional development workshops. Students will take tours of Cincinnati’s top businesses and network with recruiters who have strong relationships with the Farmer School of Business. Students will have the opportunity to network with Miami graduates who serve as powerful leaders and innovators in their field!

During the camp students will:
  • Spend three days and two nights in a residence hall on campus and dine in one of our
    many dining facilities.
  • Participate in workshops focusing on leadership, social media, branding, teams, and
    professional development.
  • Tour Cincinnati’s top businesses and network with recruiters who have strong
    relationships with the Farmer School of Business.
  • Network with Miami graduates who serve as powerful leaders and innovators in their
    field.

All expenses for the camp, including food and lodging, will be covered by the Harnett Family and the Farmer School of Business. Students incur no cost except transportation to campus.

Deadline to apply: Friday, May 12 by 11:59PM

We encourage you to apply to this program if you will be a high school sophomore, junior,
or senior next school year (fall 2023), have at least a 3.0 GPA, and reside in the Cincinnati,
Dayton, Columbus, or Cleveland areas. We also encourage you to apply to this program
even if you are uncertain about business. It is our hope that during the three days, you will
learn more about college life, working in teams, and developing your interpersonal skills
while learning more about the business profession.
