Miami University today announced that Cleveland Clinic has joined efforts with the Center for Analytics and Data Science (CADS), the sixth partner for CADS since its establishment in May 2015.
Cleveland Clinic is a nonprofit, multi-specialty academic medical center integrating clinical and hospital care with research and education. “With the healthcare industry generating massive amounts of data, partnering with CADS allows us to use that data more effectively both in the business and patient aspects of the clinic,” said Chris Donovan, executive director of Enterprise Information Management and Analytics at Cleveland Clinic and Miami University Class of 1992 alumnus. “We are looking forward to the future as we work together to help the center provide the necessary skills and experience to develop the next generation of leading industry professionals.”
CADS partners interact with Miami students in classes, luncheons and other exclusive events, including the Analytics Networking Reception during the fall Career Fair and the center’s annual DataFest competition, a weekend-long event hosted by Miami and featuring partners as judges. Partners also have a seat on the CADS advisory board as they help build curriculum, and they receive priority consideration for client-based projects through the EY Analytics Learning Lab.
“It’s phenomenal to secure Cleveland Clinic as CADS’ newest partner,” said Dr. Allison Jones-Farmer, faculty director of CADS. “We are thrilled that Cleveland Clinic will work with us in developing our educational programs in the fields of analytics and data science. We are looking forward to working with them in many areas including student-led projects using meaningful data from the healthcare industry.”
CADS is a multidisciplinary effort to bring together students and faculty from across the university, including from departments such as Information Systems and Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Marketing and Accountancy. The center strives to provide an innovative environment where students and faculty can work together in the fields of analytics and data science. As data becomes a driving force in much of our modern world, CADS provides a collaborative environment to build the problem solvers of the future.
