Cradle of Marketers to bring experts, students together
October 2018
The Department of Marketing and the Forbes CMO Networks will host the 6th annual Cradle of Marketers event at the Farmer School on October 18-19, 2018. The event is designed to celebrate the career success of alumni and provide inspiration and mentoring to current undergraduates.
This year’s participants are:
The "Cradle of Marketers" name is a nod to Miami’s fame as “The Cradle of Coaches.” Just as Woody Hayes, Bo Schembechler, Ara Parseghian, Weeb Ewbank, Paul Brown, and Sid Gillman left an impact on the college football landscape that can still be felt today, the Farmer School and Miami are creating a legacy in the marketing world.
For this year’s event, the Department of Marketing has launched two new initiatives; an innovative skills-based curriculum and a program called KICKGLASS Marketing to provide people-centered solutions to gender inequality within the marketing industry.
Along with keynote sessions, the event will provide opportunities for small group meetings with students and panels in a smaller classroom setting to allow more personal discussions with students. Alumni will also participate in "Shark Tank" sessions with Strategy Works capstone student teams to help them sharpen their strategic insights for their client, Textron Aviation.
This year, the event also adds opportunities for interaction with faculty about leading edge research and on-going curriculum initiatives within the department. For a look at the event and a link to the schedule, click here. Students wishing to register for the event should go here.
