Airport Pickup

A discounted Miami Airport Bus is available to bring students to Miami from the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) DoubleTree Hotel for respective populations. You are expected to check out of the hotel at 9:00 a.m. and then check in with a Miami staff member at the hotel who will give you instructions regarding the move-in process.

Tickets for the bus cost $30 per person and are non-refundable. All students who wish to take the bus must purchase a ticket online to reserve a seat. If your family members will come with you, please purchase tickets for them as well. Please do not purchase tickets for other students.

In order to purchase a Miami University bus ticket, you will need to submit a photo for ID production. Your Miami ID is also the key to your room. IDs will be distributed to students by Miami staff upon check-in for bus transportation.

Bus ticket registration will be available at a later date.

Miami Airport Bus Ticket Purchase Instructions

  1. Read the description and then click “Register.”
  2. Fill out “First Name,” “Last Name,” and “Email Address,” and then click “Next.”
  3. Fill out all required and/or optional questions.
  4. If you bring family members, you can “Add Guest” and purchase tickets for them.
  5. Review your personal information and the agenda. If the information is correct, click on “Next” and pay for your bus ticket.
  6. You should receive an automatic email confirming your agenda and payment.

Lodging at DoubleTree Hotel—CVG Airport

A discounted rate is available for Miami University students at the DoubleTree Hotel near the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) to rest and wait for the Miami Airport Bus the following day. 

A free shuttle, provided by the DoubleTree Hotel, will take you from the airport terminal to the hotel. You must call the DoubleTree Hotel at (859) 371-6166 to request the shuttle pick-up service. Each airport terminal has a free telephone available. In order to receive the special Miami University discounted rate, you MUST book your room at the DoubleTree Hotel using the instruction below:

Reservation Instructions for the DoubleTree Hotel

  1. Reserve a room
  2. Enter arrival and departure dates
  3. Enter the number of rooms and guests and click “Continue”
  4. Click on “Select”
  5. Put in your contact information and click on “Continue”
  6. Enter your payment information

Note: If you are under 18 years of age, the hotel has advised that you will have to indicate that you are 18 years or older in order to complete your reservation, but this should not impact your ability to check in at the hotel.

We STRONGLY recommend arriving to the Cincinnati Airport (CVG), staying at the discounted hotel, and then riding the Miami Airport Bus. This is the easiest arrival option.

There is no Miami Airport Bus or discounted hotel option from the Dayton Airport.

Other Transportation Options

If you choose to arrive on your own to Oxford, please make sure that you still arrive with plenty of time to attend the orientation program. It’s very important that you receive all of the information regarding your immigration status while in the U.S. as well as how to be a successful student at Miami.

Please be prepared to spend around $100 to travel from the CVG Airport to Oxford with a taxi or other private transportation company. You are expected to tip your driver 10-20% (you should tip more if they helped you load and unload your luggage).

***If you are living on-campus and arrive to Oxford on your own, you must go to the Campus Services Center, Room 034 in the Campus Avenue Building, to obtain your residence hall ID card, which is also your room key. Please visit the Campus Service Center website for business hours.If you arrive outside of this time, you must find your own accommodations until you can obtain your ID card.
