Residency Requirements
All Oxford campus first- and second-year full-time students are required to live in the residence halls through the spring semester of their second academic year of enrollment. Students in residence halls are required to subscribe to a University meal plan.

Historically, Miami has been a residential university, and its residential character is a major and distinctive feature. The residence life staff provide special programs and services that promote student development and learning. First-year programs promote adjustment to campus life and support academic achievement.

Student Room Regulations
The University respects the students’ desire for privacy. In the interest of maintaining an environment which facilitates good scholarship and provides for the health and safety of residents, it is necessary for the University to exercise the contractual right of room entry; therefore, the University reserves the right to make periodic health, safety, and maintenance checks of rooms to administer regulations.

Family and Medical Leave
In accordance with federal law, employees are eligible for family and medical leave after twelve (12) months of employment and provided the employee has performed at least 1250 hours of work during the previous 12-month period. (Fulltime faculty are deemed to meet the 1250-hour requirement.)

Nursing is a “people profession” and more men are signing up

Instead, he got a job driving heavy equipment. “I was good at it, it was good money, but I hated it,” said Ball, 42, of Oxford. “There were no people interactions.” With his kids now teenagers, Ball is back in school, pursuing what he always wanted to do — become a nurse.
