Writing in Community Challenge for Junior Faculty

Kick Off Your Semester Write: Writing in Community Challenge for Junior Faculty

The Howe Writing Center invites all junior faculty to join us this fall for our popular Junior Faculty Writing Hours! We are challenging Miami’s assistant professors and assistant TCPLs to gather for six Fridays between September 22nd and November 3rd (excluding Fall Break), in-person in King Library or online via Zoom, from 10-12, to write and create a writing community with other junior faculty. We offer the time, space and accountability you need to help you achieve your long-term writing goals (plus donuts and coffee, if you’re coming in-person). You bring your writing-in-progress--whatever it is--and settle in to work!

RSVP is required; you will be added to a Google calendar event that contains both the Zoom link and in-person location.

Dates for the challenge are:

  • Friday, September 22nd from 10-12
  • Friday, September 29th from 10-12
  • Friday, October 6th from 10-12

Off for the week of fall break

  • Friday, October 20th from 10-12
  • Friday, October 27th from 10-12
  • Friday, November 3rd from 10-12

Participants who attend at least 4 out of 6 sessions will complete the challenge and receive a writing-themed prize.

RSVP now and commit to your writing!
