Graduate Student Writing Fellows Program

A pilot of our innovative Writing Fellows Program for Graduate Teaching Assistants took place during the 2019–20 academic year. The semester-long master class provided teams from English (Literature), Gerontology, Biology, and Engineering & Computing with intensive time to consider how writing works in their disciplines and how they can most effectively use writing in their courses and programs. Participants met once a week for an hour and a half for a full semester. They worked on a project of their choosing and presented it in a showcase. Participants received $500 each in professional development funds.

We do not have another Graduate Writing Fellows cohort planned for the immediate future, but hope to host one again soon. Interested graduate students can email Elizabeth Wardle at wardleea@miamioh.edu for more information. Faculty may also nominate graduate students to participate.
