New Year, new fitness for you to stay focused

Happy New Year!  We have a great, new fitness schedule to help you stay productive and active throughout your week.

During winter term (1/2-1/25), our group fitness schedule is condensed; the full group fitness schedule begins Monday, January 28.  Please check out our HR events calendar to see the schedule for each class and workshop and our fitness website for full descriptions for all classes, workshops, and fitness center hours. 

Fun, New Beginnings!
● Winter Term Curling workshop began on Wednesday 1/2 at 1210p and will continue through 1/23
● New 6-week workshops beginning spring semester

○ Fusion Belly Dancing - Thurs, 1/31-3/7 from 1210-1255p, Clawson Hall Fitness Center (Oxford)
○ QiGong & Tai Chi - Tues, 2/5-3/12 from 1210-1255p, Hamilton Gym 116 (Hamilton)
○ Power Aquatics - Thurs, 2/7-3/21 from 530-630p, Rec Center pool (Oxford)
○ Hoop Fitness - Tues, 2/12-3/19 from 1210-1255p, Bennett Rec room 2 (Middletown)
○ Spinning - Tues, 2/12-3/19 from 1210-1255p, Rec Center room B (Oxford)

New Changes
● Pilates on Mondays beginning on 1/7 in Phillips 115 dance studio
● Cardio Tone AM on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning on 1/3
● Cardio Tone AM locations:
○ Phillips Hall 33 gym - 1/3-1/24
○ Clawson Hall Fitness Center - 1/29 through 5/16
● Tuesday Yoga PM will move to MacMillan Hall 212 great room on 1/8
● Wednesday Yoga AM will move to Phillips 115 dance studio on 1/2

New Satellite Fitness Center Location Available
In addition to Phillips Hall fitness center, Clawson Hall fitness center will be available to use twice a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1/29-5/16 from 12-2p at no cost.  This is a new satellite location of the Rec Center.  Clawson Hall is located on Western campus, across the street from the child development center (Mini U).  The entrance is to the left of Havighurst Hall.

All fitness programs are free, at no-cost to all Miami faculty and staff (both full time and part time are welcome) as well as spouses on the health insurance plan. Plus you can participate on your primary campus or a regional campus depending on what works best for your schedule.  As always, no experience is necessary to participate in any of the workshops or group fitness classes.
