About
Peabody Hall was named for Helen Peabody, who was the first principal and teacher of the Western Female Seminary from 1855-1888. She was a graduate of Mount Holyoke College, after which Western College for Women was fashioned. Peabody Hall is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This hall also holds the academic office for theIndividualized Studies: Western Program on the first floor. This unique building also houses Leonard Theatre, the Howe Writing Center Windate Satellite, and 39° 84° West. Because of the many common areas in this building, students must use their Miami ID to access their individual residence floors for added security. The nearest dining location is Western Dining Commons.
