Award Notification and Cost for Next Year

First-year students: If you have filed the FAFSA and listed Miami as a recipient in the school section, you should receive an award notification by mid to late March.

Returning students: The award information for returning students will be available on BannerWeb by June 15. Students will receive an email notification to their Miami email account when their financial aid information is available. Awards are packaged the early part of June to allow for the posting of the current academic year's grades. Remember that you must file the FAFSA each year.

Generally, Miami's Board of Trustees approves the tuition and fees for the next academic year at their June meeting. The budget you receive on your award notification will be an estimate.

Factors that affect your financial aid package include the following:

  • Changes in available funding
  • Changes in your FAFSA information
  • Changes in your enrollment (add/drop classes)
  • Changes in your housing plan or living arrangement
  • Changes from additional sources of financial aid
  • Changes to your aid that cannot exceed your Cost of Attendance (COA)
  • Changes to your eligibility for awards
  • Changes to correct errors
  • Changes because you have not maintained Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
  • Changes of specific major required for departmental scholarships
