We strive to be a thriving, multidisciplinary department that promotes intellectual inquiry; cultivates the understanding, knowledge, and appreciation of language; and promotes literacy—specifically, the ability to read, write, and think critically, creatively, and ethically. Our student-centered classes will deepen students’ intercultural understanding through the study of diverse languages and texts.
