Welcome to the Omicron Chi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International!

Sigma Theta Tau International was initiated in 1922 by six students of nursing at Indiana University. Today the honor society has grown to include more than 426 chapters across the world, with more than 400,000 inducted members who are active in more than 90 different countries and territories! Today, the leaders and members of Omicron Chi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International carry on the rich tradition set forth by the founding members.

Omicron Chi is based at Miami University and has many strong members from the community and the surrounding region. Each spring, the chapter holds an induction ceremony welcoming new members. Students are selected based on their GPA eligibility and community members are nominated based on their contributions to the nursing profession.

The Omicron Chi Board, consisting of several members, meets routinely and is comprised of several committees that also meet to accomplish outcomes. While our chapter will continue with many of the traditional activities (newsletters, CE programming) we are also excited to bring about some new strategies.

We welcome your feedback and comments! Please contact any of the board members (our contact information is listed on this website) for questions or to seek ways in which you can become actively engaged. The key to Omicron Chi's continuing success truly lies within its membership involvement.

Welcome! We look forward to sharing and enjoying the benefits of Nursing Professional Honor Society with you!
