What is Digital Business Systems?

Digital Business Systems prepares students for administrative support positions in companies, service organizations, or governmental agencies. As technology permeates organizations, individuals increasingly perform their own support functions. Thus, traditional support positions are being rapidly transformed into higher-level positions.

What are the features of Miami’s program?

The Department of Commerce is the first Military/Veteran Friendly Academic Department on the regional campuses. Contact our office to schedule an appointment to meet with one of our designated Military/Veteran advisors.

The Department of Commerce offers a number of scholarships. These scholarships are available for those students who have declared one of the Business Technology Associate or Bachelor degrees as their major.

What are the special admission requirements, if any?

There are no additional admission requirements for this program.

What courses would I take?

By combining management and technical courses, students can develop the management skills and technical expertise necessary to manage modern office operations. Interpersonal, communication, managerial and computer skills are emphasized.

What can I do with this major?

Students explore popular software and technologies used in today's organizations in addition learning about content management systems and e-commerce technologies and practices. This can lead to office support and marketing positions that require skills in adapting to new technologies and business practices. Graduates can also continue their studies on Miami University's regional campuses in the Bachelor of Science in Commerce program.
