Tutoring and Mentoring

The Tutoring and Learning Centers provide services through inPerson sessions, WebCAM sessions, and through our Email Writing Tutoring Sessions.

inPerson Tutoring 

What is inPerson Tutoring? inPerson Tutoring is the synchronous tutoring appointment that takes place inPerson at one of our tutoring centers. This session normally lasts one hour, unless previously requested for a different amount of time. Some of what you can expect from an appointment is going over specific areas in question with tutor from the course.  If you would like to schedule an inPerson Tutoring appointment, please submit a request via the:

inPerson Mentoring 

What is inPerson Mentoring? inPerson Mentoring is the synchronous mentoring appointment that takes place inPerson at one of our tutoring centers. This session normally lasts one hour, unless previously requested for a different amount of time. Our mentors can help many college skills. Some examples are: Microsoft Word, Time Management, Organizational skills, and Power Point tools. If you would like to schedule an inPerson Mentoring appointment, please submit a request via the:

WebCAM Tutoring 

What is WebCAM Tutoring? WebCAM Tutoring is the synchronous tutoring appointment that takes place over a WebCAM platform. Our office uses Google Meet most often. The tutor will send you a link to a Google Meet appointment at the time of the session. You are both online at the same time.  You will need to have a webcam, microphone, and speakers, as part of your computer for the appointment. If you would like to have an WebCAM Tutoring appointment with one of our tutors or mentors through Google Meet, please submit a request via the

WebCAM Mentoring 

What is WebCAM Mentoring? WebCAM Mentoring is the synchronous mentoring appointment that takes place over Google Meet. The mentor will invite you to a Google Meet appointment. You are both online at the same time. You will need to have a webcam, microphone, and speakers, as part of your computer for the appointment. If you would like to have an WebCAM Tutoring appointment with one of our mentors through Google Meet, please submit a request via the

WebCAM Mentoring Appointment Request Form.

Email Writing Tutoring

Do you need help with a paper assigned for a Miami University Regionals class and are unable to schedule an inPerson Tutoring session through one of the TLC offices? You may want to submit your COMPLETED ROUGH DRAFT to be reviewed by an Email Writing Tutor.

Complete the

Email Writing Tutor Form.

and follow the instructions. If the paper meets the criteria for Email Writing Tutoring, you will receive your paperback within two (2) business days with tutor comments. (If not, you will receive an email referring you to our regular writing tutor inPerson services at our Middletown or Hamilton Tutoring & Learning Centers.) We are excited to offer this service and look forward to helping you strengthen your writing.
