Maryah Martin with President Gregory Crawford and his wife Renate Crawford after Maryah received the Presidents Distinguished Service Award.

Maryah Martin came to Miami Middletown knowing she wouldn't spend her entire college career there. What she didn’t know was that she was destined for a true #OneMiami experience. Taking classes at Miami Middletown, Miami Hamilton, Miami Oxford, and online with the E-Campus wasn’t easy; especially when she did it all in one semester. "I got to see the little differences between all of the locations, while we’re still all one Miami."

As a first-generation student, Maryah has made the most of her journey at Miami University by getting to know her faculty, getting involved in student organizations and athletics, and working as a student employee. Through her service to the university she got to know President Greg Crawford and Dr. Renate Crawford - even being honored with the President’s Distinguished Service Award in 2018, the highest honor for student service at Miami.

"I was involved in so many things on campus and had an off campus job, so it gave me the flexibility to do all of those things every semester."
