Support for Mind of all Kinds

Now taking applications for Fall 2023.

Application deadline is July 1, 2023; however, applications will be accepted and reviewed on an ongoing basis, to accommodate mid-year enrollment circumstances.

This is a fee-based program that extends beyond tuition. Fees are per semester, and program participation covers:

• Individualized learning plans
• Individualized coaching and group planning meetings
• Self-administered assessment to gauge executive functioning strengths and growth opportunities
• Inclusive, supportive space for strengths-based skill building
• Support with academic and life skills development
• Executive functioning skills development
• Support for transition to college and beyond
• Point of contact person for parents
• Coordinated services with campus resources

Mission

The Fusion program at Miami University Regionals aims to provide supplementary assistance for participating students, specifically designed to support Executive Functioning challenges (e.g., time management, organization, procrastination), that extend beyond typical, mandated ADA accommodations. Through individualized, strengths-based services, Fusion hopes to assist in closing achievement gaps, and increasing the likelihood of retention and graduation rates, among Miami Regionals students.

Eligibility Requirements

• Applicants must be accepted for first-year admission or be a currently enrolled Miami University Regionals student;
• Be able to start Fusion at the beginning of a semester and attend any required orientations; and
• Meet criteria for or show documentation of a disability impacting executive functioning. *Please note: SDS registration is not required for admittance to Fusion.

Program Offerings:

• A self-administered, strengths-based assessment to measure Executive Functioning skills.
• An individualized, tailored approach to improving Executive Functioning skills, based on assessment results.
• A network of faculty, staff, and fellow students to support participants’ learning and growth.
• A set of resources to provide ongoing support beyond program participation.
