Phased Return to Work

Some employees have already returned to campus to work. The University will begin to bring back all employees who will work on campus this fall- using staggered work schedules when appropriate.

Our campus and our work will look and be different this fall and will include:

  • Wearing a face covering while at work unless working alone in an enclosed workspace, or unless exempted from doing so in accordance with the Ohio Department of Health regulations
  • Engaging in regular handwashing and hand sanitizing
  • Limiting use of some buildings and spaces (breakrooms and meeting rooms)
  • Meeting remotely when possible
  • Staggering work schedules
  • Requiring scheduled appointments and new protective procedures for “walk-in” or “unscheduled visitors”
  • Frequently disinfecting personal workspaces (e.g., laptops, phones, and desks)
  • Restricting hosting of minors and other visitors on campus
  • Closing non-essential spaces
  • Limiting non-essential activities
  • Placing barriers in some spaces to ensure physical distancing (e.g. reception desks)

For those employees who believe they will not be able to return to campus to work in the fall or will need additional assistance to return to campus due to a serious underlying health condition, the university will work with them to provide reasonable accommodations to enable them to continue working where possible. Those seeking an accommodation should follow this process-
