A "recognized" fraternity or sorority is one that is in good standing with the university. All recognized fraternities and sororities strive to uphold the Greek Principles of Scholarship & Learning, Service & Philanthropy, Leadership, Community, and Brotherhood & Sisterhood. These organizations are granted university privileges such as using campus facilities and equipment, tabling, posting and hanging flyers, holding meetings and/or programs on campus, having an advisor, inducting new members that will be recognized by the university, and participating in campus events such as Greek Week, Recruitment, Philanthropy Events, and Social Events.
