Scholar Leader Program
The mission of the Scholar Leader program is to establish a proactive, supportive community dedicated to enhancing leadership and scholarship among its members and the broader university community.
The Scholar Leader program is a residential living-learning program involving a one-year residence in Elliott or Stoddard Halls, two of the most historic residence halls in the nation. Endowments for each room provide scholarships to those students selected to live in the community. The Scholar Leader community encourages resident-guided programming, academic involvement, service learning projects and the opportunity to explore leadership through intensive group engagement.
Applications for the 2016-17 Scholar Leader Community will be available beginning on October 27, 2015 at miamioh.edu/scholarleader. Learn more about the Scholar Leader Program by visiting the Wilks website. Please contact Courtney Wallace and Sarah Thompson (scholarleaders@miamioh.edu) with any questions.

Student Spotlight Feature
This month, our Student Spotlight Feature is Ifeolu Claytor, a junior Political Science and Social Justice Studies major. During his time at Miami, he has been a part of making a significant impact on campus through his involvement as Secretary of Diversity Affairs for Associated Student Government and through being a Student Engagement and Leadership (SEAL) Ambassador, a peer mentor helping students find a place to be involved and assisting with student organization needs. He also serves as the President of Miami’s chapter of the National Black Law Students Association, and is “proud of working to establish our chapter on campus.” Last year, he received a Rising Leader Award for his work with the Diversity Affairs Council.
In addition to his involvement in campus organizations, Ifeolu also has the honor of serving as the only undergraduate student on the presidential search committee. Of this experience, Ifeolu says, “I take great pride in being selected and intend to work incredibly hard to bring the best to Miami University.” He is looking forward to advocating for students throughout this process.
His advice for students is to “get in there and try. Many of Miami’s student leaders are looking for students who aren’t over-extended or overly involved to help.”
Thank you for your passion and enthusiasm in your many leadership roles on campus, Ifeolu!
