Greater Cincinnati Presence

Increasing Miami’s Presence in Greater Cincinnati

Goals:

  • Partner with OARS, CAS and Career Services to create a Miami Summit Tour with faculty.
  • Work with OARS to identify university-wide partnership opportunities with regional universities and businesses to support higher education and the retention of our graduates in Ohio.
  • Work with Institutional Relations to strengthen our relationships with statewide elected officials and organizations who have an established governmental relations impact.

Economic Impact:

  • Approximately 25% of Miami alumni (50,000) live and work in the 15-county Greater Cincinnati Region.  As a public university, being actively engaged in select regional business and community out-reach initiatives is vitally important to achieving the University’s, “Miami 2020 Plan” objectives.
  • Based on 2010 U.S. Census income data (using the highest Miami degree awarded), an estimate of our Tri-State alumni’s combined income is over $2.3 billion, with an expected impact to the regional economy of $4.7 billion.
